Moriah had run through the field, and tripped on a stone.
Her parents run to her side to see if she is okay.
Moriah rolls over, laughing.
Her parents laugh also, mostly in relief that their daughter is okay. They haven't quite got used to the fact that she is now blind ...and they know they are being a bit overprotective, but how can they help it. They love her so much.
It is probably harder on her parents than it is on Moriah. Moriah has discovered so many things that were always there. She had taken so much for granted, and now has renewed appreciation.
Amid the laughter, Moriah's attention shifts. Her cute little nose turns slightly upward, gently directing towards the scent of a flower. "Such a beautiful blue flower ...a field filled with them."
Her parents smile quietly, without comment. The flower is actually orange, and there is a group of three of them ...the only three in the field.
But, of course, they are not going to tell her ...as Moriah is enjoying life like never before, and her mind's eye sees the beauty as few have seen before and few will ever see. Some people overlook the beauty of delicate flower, don't stop to smell the roses, and cannot even see the bitterness inside them ...though they show it to everyone else.
Moriah's reality it what she feels ...and it is more real than that which others manufacture in their minds.
A little girl is blind, though once could see. Smiling, she smells the fragrance of the meadow.

Moriah's life changes again. The police and an ambulance arrive. Moriah is uninjured, thanks to her overprotective parents. Though, in protecting Moriah, her parents get badly injured. The ambulance rushes them off to the hospital.
Moriah is in tears. She had felt the violent tug on her clothes ...and she heard the mixture of angry voices and panicky voices.
The panicky voices were those of her loving parents. And she will never forget the angry voice of the man responsible for such violence.
The police do not know that Moriah is blind. They ask, "Did you see the man! Did you see what he drove away in?"
Moriah had imagined the orange flower to be blue ...and that didn't matter. But, she is not going to say that the man had on a red shirt and blue jeans ...and drove away in a 2008 light blue Jeep Wrangler. Suddenly, those details are much more important.
Moriah tells the policeman that she is blind.

Saul became blind. But, he later saw things like he had never seen before ...and is referred to as the Apostle Paul.
The Apostle Paul did not see things in a new light by his own imagination. He saw them as God had him see things.
The first thing he saw ...was the error of his ways. And he saw fit to correct them ...not by his past sight, but by the insight given him by God.
Many of us look at some very important things in life ...as we would like to see them. Sure, we can imagine and look forward to Heaven. But, I'm not going to become the authority on the details of that imaginative glory. The glory of Heaven, and of Whom resides there ...is surely beyond any of our imaginations.
But, I will confidently tell you the way to Heaven.
Are you ready? Okay, I'm about to ...okay, here it is: Jesus is the only way!!
Are you ready? Okay, I'm about to ...okay, here it is: Jesus is the only way!!
I don't speak that upon my authority ...because I have none. I only share in the knowledge of the only Authority that I know. Our loving God did want us to be blind to this fact, but it is only something we can see with our heart.
But, there again is the rub. It is not our heart that sees things as they really are ...it is in turning to Him, and seeing the things that He reveals to us through His Word. We received the most wonderful gift through Jesus ...yet, we cannot know it without having also been given the testimony and written Word. The Bible sheds light on what He wants us all to see.
